Like meth?

While love can be very intoxicating, making you obsessed and impulsive over another person, being high on meth can do more than just give you butterflies in your tummy. In turn, it poses many unique and severe problems for women. Women addicted to meth tend to have histories of physical and sexual abuse, and/or may have problems with depression, anxiety, and self-esteem.

How Meth Woos Women

For some women, meth use is an irresistible and exciting thing. Here are some reasons why women use meth:

Meth is often introduced by a boyfriend. In this case, meth is presented as a way to strengthen their bond and express themselves, or even as a special form of recreation that they can do together. In the women’s minds, it will bring them closer to their partners.

Since it reduces the appetite and speeds up metabolism, meth attracts women due to its weight loss properties.

Since depression and anxiety rates are higher in women, using meth helps enhance their mood while increasing their confidence.

Many women who are faced with the challenges of work and family wife may often turn to meth to increase their energy and fight off fatigue. At first, they may find themselves being able to be at their best while they are on meth, therefore enforcing the addiction potential.

Meth also provides an escape from all of life’s “drama.” Many women who experienced abuse, violence, and trauma resort to meth use to cope with their past.

The Dangers of Meth to Women

Aside from the effects of meth that affect both men and women, there are also dangers that pose higher risks on women addicted to meth. One of the most immediate and most common consequences of meth use on women can happen while they are with other people. This can be in the form or rape, abuse, injury, and even death.

Since meth increases the sex drive of users while making them more confident and less inhibited, they tend to have more sex partners. They are also less likely to use protection, therefore increasing their risk for STIs and HIV. There are also instances when women meth users are seen to be more likely to use sex in order to obtain money for meth, or even use sex in exchange for meth.

If you or someone you know is addicted to meth, please contact us on our confidential helpline: 09175098826.
