Christmas is different when you’re on drugs or struggling with an addiction. Here’s a parody of a holiday favorite, “The 12 Days of Christmas” reinterpreted for drug addiction from Recovery Connection<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the third day of addiction my drugs said to me, \u201cI won\u2019t let you down, I\u2019m extremely loyal and I will make you feel good.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the fourth day of addiction my drugs said to me, \u201cYou deserve a break, I won\u2019t let you down, I\u2019m extremely loyal and I will make you feel good.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the fifth day of addiction my drugs said to me, \u201cOne more hit won\u2019t hurt you, you deserve a break, I won\u2019t let you down, I\u2019m extremely loyal and I will make you feel good.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the sixth day of addiction my drugs said to me, \u201cYou\u2019re in Control\u2026 One more hit won\u2019t hurt you, you deserve a break, I won\u2019t let you down, I\u2019m extremely loyal and I will make you feel good.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Reality of Addiction<\/h3>\n

While the parody is quite amusing, the reality is, addiction draws in the addict deeper into self-destruction. The addict would not only lie to others, but more tragically, to themselves to the point that it destroys everything else the addict has.<\/p>\n
