Bridges of Hope, one of the country’s largest and fastest growing private rehab centers, hosted the seminar titled “Talk About Drugs” in coordination with ISSUP (International Society for Substance Use Professionals), Living Free Foundation, and Colombo Plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"UTC<\/p>\n

“Talk About Drugs,” which tackles the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC) 1 or “Physiology and Pharmacology for Addiction Professionals,”\u00a0 is one of a series of seminars under UTC. These seminars are requirements for addiction professionals to take the ICAP (International Certification for Addiction Professionals) Test and become internationally certified to practice.<\/p>\n

The seminar was held\u00a0from January 9 to 11 2019 in the Alabang Hills Village Clubhouse in Alabang Hills, Muntinlupa. The aim of the program was to increase awareness and disseminate crucial information to addiction professionals about the different substances widely abused by individuals. The seminar provides a comprehensive overview of addiction, allowing addiction professionals a more in-depth understanding of addiction as a brain disease.<\/p>\n

The seminar was attended by 30 participants, made up of representatives from addiction rehab and government institutions all over the country, including those from Bridges of Hope’s 5 facilities in Para\u00f1aque, Quezon City, Pampanga, Batangas, and Cebu.<\/p>\n

Bridges of Hope has been hosting UTC seminars in the past. “Talk About Drugs” is the first UTC seminar of a series for this year, in preparation for the ICAP test for addiction professionals to be internationally certified. The ICAP test will be held here in the Philippines this March.<\/p>\n
