The coronavirus pandemic has overwhelming impacts all over the world. Because of the COVID-19 crisis, many businesses have stopped operating. Additionally, essential workers are at risk of contracting COVID-19 as they work, healthcare workers in particular are overloaded, and families face uncertain times. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Here in the Philippines, the President has extended the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ)<\/a> from April 15 to April 30. This is an increased measure to contain the spread of the virus amid this COVID-19 crisis. This means more people are staying home<\/a>, many of them not able to go to work and provide for their own family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bridges of Hope Helps<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bridges of Hope is committed to help at this crucial and uncertain time. It has helped during the Taal Eruption<\/a> earlier this year. This time, it aims to do the same.

Last April 6, with the leadership of Bridges of Hope Philippines CEO & Chairman, Jon Ty<\/a>, Bridges of Hope has prepared food packs for donation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This COVID-19 initiative aims to extend help to the immediate communities that are experiencing widespread hardship during this time. As the ECQ is extended, the livelihood of many people remain uncertain. While local LGUs are working hard to provide for the needs of their respective constituents, it is up to us all to help where we can,” shares Ty, who is also the Executive Director of the Bridges of Hope Main in BF, Para\u00f1aque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This said, they have prepared food items for donations, which include rice and canned goods. These are then distributed within BF Homes, where the first and main facility of the treatment center is located. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Distribution of these food packs have also been done in Rizal, where another facility is soon to be opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hope in the Time of the COVID-19 Crisis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Staying inside and staying health is the best defense against the spread of the virus. It is also the best contribution each individual can make to help their communities and the overwhelmed health care system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
