Ketamine is also considered as a date rape drug. It is because it’s a highly powerful anesthetic that makes people feel like they’re detached or dissociated from their body. It was widely used in the hospital, especially veterinary, setting. However, it’s now widely abused as a party drug in clubs in many parts of the globe.

Because Ketamine is less common than meth (or locally known as shabu) and marijuana, there are many misconceptions about it. People who use it think that it’s not addictive, but what they don’t know is ketamine abuse can lead to addiction–and with dangerous consequences.
Signs of Ketamine Abuse
- Unusual calm or mellowness
- Exhibiting signs of being dissociated from body
- Dilated pupils
- Nausea
- Slow breathing
- Delirium
- Hallucinations
- Involuntary muscle movements
- Sudden increase in blood pressure that eventually drops
- Deliriums
- Inability to think clearly
Sooner or later, you will experience tolerance of the drug. This means you will want to want more and more of the drug to feel the same high that made you enjoy it in the first place. Once this happens, you will soon find out you’re addicted.
You will become psychologically dependent on the drug. Until you get withdrawal symptoms when you try to cut down or stop using. Sooner or later, you find yourself doing everything just to get the drug, even if it means getting in trouble at work, in your family life or in your community.
