They don’t spend as much time on what used to be their favorite activities. They become isolated and would only hang out with people who are also associated with their drug use. In other words, drug use becomes their world.
Many of these drug addicts turn to become drug dealers after a while.

1. Being a drug dealer supports their drug habit. They become immersed in the world of drugs, as they are only around people who supply drugs as well as those who use like them. At first, it may start out as doing a favor for their dealer, until they become attracted to the idea of selling.
2. Selling drugs bring them lots of money. Or so they think. When they are addicted to drugs, their life eventually takes a different turn. They can’t hold down a job, keep a regular schedule, or become reliable to their bosses, colleagues, and even their families. The lure of drug dealing is the most feasible way for them to earn income. They think that they can become their own boss and earn a lot of money–which are really the exact opposite in reality.
3. Their values change. Becoming a drug dealer, for the addict, seem to make the most sense to them. They don’t care about anything else as long as they are surrounded by drugs and they feel like they have an endless supply of drugs and money.
These reasons are powerful motivators, but nothing ever goes right with addiction and drug dealing in the end. Eventually, they will find themselves deeper into their addiction, on top of being deeper in legal and financial troubles.
